We are known as Nevada Rural Housing Authority, a public housing authority that administers affordable housing programs across the state. Our main office is located in Carson City, Nevada, with skilled area representatives located in Churchill County, Lyon County, Elko County, Humbolt County, White Pine County, Nye County, Mineral County and Douglas County. The Authority assists 15 of the 17 counties within Nevada, serving 98,700 miles and over 280,000 people. Presently NRHA offers Section 8 Vouchers to low income, elderly and disabled individuals and families. NRHA also owns and manages six apartment complexes, including three for the elderly. The United States Housing Act authorizes federal rent subsidy programs commonly known as Section 8. The federal government sets income limits for eligibility, and requirements for initial certification of income. Private-market dwellings must be certified decent, safe and sanitary to be eligible for participation in the Section 8 program. With the support of a dedicated staff, commitment and guidance from the Board of Commissioners, the cooperation of our public and private partners, and the understanding of our clientele, we are confident that we will succeed. |
