NRHA's Housing Choice Voucher Program Named High Performer by HUD

Carson City, NV--For the fourth year in a row, Nevada Rural Housing Authority has been named a High Performer by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the management of its Housing Choice Voucher Program.

The program provides rental assistance to low-income families, the elderly and disabled through the federally funded Housing Choice Rental Assistance program.

“It is a real honor to have our efforts supporting low-income families recognized,” said Terry Smith, NRHA Rental Assistance Director. “Our Rental Assistance Program increases affordable housing choices by assisting qualifying individuals and families with the means to afford privately owned rental housing.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid sent a letter of congratulation to Terry Smith for her work helping NRHA achieve HUD's High Performer status.

For nearly 40 years, the Nevada Rural Housing Authority has worked to get Nevadans into safe, comfortable, affordable homes. Through innovative home ownership, home enhancement and rental assistance programs, NRHA has improved the quality of life for tens of thousands of Nevadans across the state.
